What I absolutely cannot stand are people who are vibe killers. You might be having one of the best days ever. In your mind, today is the most perfect day you have ever dreamed of. Filled with joy and happiness. Then here comes this one person out of nowhere who starts to KILL YOUR VIBE! That Kendrick Lamar song speaks the truth: “B***h Don’t Kill My Vibe! B***h Don’t Kill My Vibe!”

You think to yourself: “What the bloody crap did I do to deserve that?” Vibe killers are mainly people you know. Your friends, complete strangers, associates, and even family members. Their mission is simple. To bring you down so you can feel just as miserable as they do. Vibe killers are not about maintaining happiness. If they are not happy, no one is happy. And if no one is happy, they are doing their job.

There were many times when people killed my vibe. To be honest with you, it really irritated me. Why? Why would that person inadvertently go out of their way to try to drain my happiness away? Then try to justify it to make it seem harmless. Don’t sugarcoat it. Because I am not going to sugarcoat my response towards you.  So if it offends you, well then tough titty. You shouldn’t have killed my vibe.

Killing my vibe will pretty much turn up the level of my sarcasm to epic highs. It will turn me into a bit of an asshole. I don’t kill other people’s vibe. I have no business doing it to no one else. So why do it to me?

Smile. Laugh. Eat some ice cream. Do something else other than to bring others down. It is going to be a point where you are going to  need someone to uplift you. Then when you find that no one will be around don’t get all Drake emotional (I am not making fun of Drake, but this term fits well in what I have to say). Because you pissed everyone off by killing their vibe. Think about it.

I am generally a nice person. But if you kill my vibe, my rage might just come out and scare you.

You Know What Grinds My Gears

This is pretty much the only one that I kept from the past blog features list. The idea for this blog feature came from Family Guy.  Remember the episode, “Stewie B. Goode” from season four? Peter was at the LackLuster Video Store looking to score some porn to take home and watch. Then the sales clerk told him that they don’t sell porn in anymore. Peter started giving a rant about how the video store stopped selling porn.  The loveable news anchor from Channel 5 News, Tom Tucker who also was trying to score some porn overheard Peter’s awesome rant. Tom liked it so much that he gave Peter a daily news segment called: “You Know Really Grinds My Gears” where he rants about general things that irritate him.  So I decided to rant about things in the news or in general that really irritate me.  It’s kind of like an opportunity to vent out my frustrations in a healthy manner.

I list the top five things that are my favorite at the moment. It could range from movies, music, clothes, food, sports, quotes, and more. I just want to spread some cool things that I love with you guys.

YouKnowWhatReallyGrindsMyGears #1: How the World reacted to Kim & Kanye’s Baby Name

On June 15^th, 2013, Kim Kardashian gave birth to a baby girl. Apparently the name for the child alone has caused more additional media coverage along with the pregnancy. Now you may be saying: “Ashley, why are you adding more attention to this matter?” I am so glad you asked that question. Well as the history of celebrity and the media have proven there is one thing that happens quite often. When a celebrity has a baby, the child’s name that they give them is so unique it causes a huge media frenzy over it.

We have heard various unique or strange celebrity baby names:

Apple

Moses

Kal-El

Pliot Inspekctor

Rainbow Ahora

Blue Ivy (Everyone knows whose child this is)

Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altatune Florence (This child has five names)

FiFi Trixibelle

Out of this small list of baby names I have presented to you all, these names cannot compare to the one Kim Kardashian and her baby daddy Kanye West named their daughter. Ladies and gentlemen the name that they chose for their daughter is: North West.

Now this is what pretty much grinds my gears. The previous name that they both had picked out for the child was Kaidence Donda West. Now the meaning of the name Kaidence comes from Latin American orgin. Kaidence  means “rhythm.” Donda of course is the name of Kanye’s late mother who passed away in 2007. Now this would be considered a pretty name for a girl. But oh no! Kim and Kanye wanted to choose a name that was a popular name for boys in the United States in 1885. I ask you why in the hell would you name a girl a boy’s name?!?! And what also is bad is that the nickname they supposedly gave to the child.The nickname is even better than the name for the child itself. The nickname for baby girl North is Nuri. In Japanese, Nuri means “belief” or “Law.” It also carries an Arabic meaning of “bright” and “luminous.” The meaning of North carries two meanings. One it states a particular geographical location. Two, you say North West together, and the child is named after a popular airline chain.

Of course many people have made jokes about Kim and Kanye’s name choice. I understand that when North or Nuri is old enough she could change her name into something that is more suitable for her. She may even keep the name. Use as a main staple if her dream is to become an entertainer like her father. But honestly, if my parents gave me this name, I would file for emancipation papers. If you ask me that name is kind of bogus. Celebrities do some of the most off the wall things only due to the fact that they have money, fame, and power.

So for all you expecting parents out there trying to find the perfect name for your child or children be smart. Think carefully. I know you want a unique name that carries some kind of significant meaning. If you love your soon-to-be born child, pick a name that resembles the love and care you will give them for the next 18 years of their life. On that note, I wish Kim and Kanye congrats on their beautiful bundle of joy. But that name though. Yikes!
