The Day My Heart Broke: When I Found Out I Was Allergic to Nutella

nutella (1)

I was going to write about how Nutella is one of my favorite things in the world but I cannot not now. Why you may ask??? Because I found out on July 24th, 2013 that I am allergic to it. So I figured I would share my heartbreaking story.

For those who don’t know what Nutella is, it is a delicious spread that is made with skim milk, hazelnuts, and cocoa. It is the best thing ever!!! You can spread it on wheat toast and eat it for breakfast. You can make Peanut Butter and Nutella sandwiches. You can use it as frosting on cupcakes, make hot chocolate with it,  make brownies, and pancakes. You can also make the most epic sandwich known to man: Nutella, Bacon, and Peanut Butter Sandwich (My mind is blown :O). I haven’t even named half of the stuff that you can make with Nutella. But y’all got the idea.

You can eat Nutella straight from the jar. Its chocolately hazelnut goodness makes you happy when you eat it. But on one eventful day, my happiness turned into sadness.

So I was at home eating some Nutella with a banana on the morning of July 24th. About 30 minutes after I finished eating, I started to feel weird. I started to think in my mind: “Please don’t let me be allergic to Nutella.” I felt my throat begin to swell a little bit. As that happened, I felt the small part of my upper back swell up as well. I was like: *In Kevin Hart’s Voice* “Noooooooooo!!!!! I wasn’t ready!!! I wasn’t ready!!!!” I then realized I wasn’t allergic to the cocoa at all. I was allergic to hazelnuts.

I took some Benadryl and realized I had some Nutella left in the jar.  I started to think on what should I do with the remainder of it. I could eat it and take some more Benadryl. It would be my last hurrah since I couldn’t eat it anymore. Or I could give the rest to someone else so they can enjoy it. I had to make a choice. Either to eat it and swell up or share it and live.

My choice was to just eat the rest of it and take some Benadryl. I am living life people. You may think I am crazy. But it sucks. I can’t eat Nutella anymore. Ever!!! Why can’t I say goodbye to that beloved skim milk/cocoa/hazelnut spread with a bang??? I mean I am still here. I am still standing. I am still strong. Sorry for going Antoine Fischer for a moment on y’all. Its just not fair yo.

So damn you hazelnuts for making me allergic to Nutella. Damn you to the pits of hell!!!! Just thought I would share that random moment with y’all.

Stay Classy, Homies ^_^. Eat some Nutella in my honor.
